Now back onto the Mass Tech nutrition label. For an 830 calorie shake, we get a well-rounded macro profile consisting of protein (63g) from 6 sources, carbohydrates (132g) such as quinoa, and 6g of fat, of which only 3g are saturated.
There's also a remarkable 65% of the RDI for calcium, as well as other minerals like sodium and iron. However, the standout feature is the recovery/strength combination of BCAAs (14g) and creatine monohydrate (10g).

Rounding off the supplement facts are typical mass gainer sweeteners acesulfame potassium and sucralose. They're a bit controversial in the health sphere but are generally regarded as safe in reasonable quantities.
The final significant ingredients are an enzyme blend, cellulose, and xanthan gum, both of which are used to thicken the powder, and cholesterol (200mg), which is quite high, even for a mass gainer.

With Mass Tech, there is no need to spend extra money on BCAAs or creatine, everything you need to bulk up is already included. All you have to do, is drink it consistently, eat healthily, and give your muscles the right stimulus through hard training.
The most compelling weight gain benefit of creatine is its ability to shuttle water into the muscle bellies, giving them a fuller and rounder appearance. If you're worried about this being a little bit superficial, don't be. After all, the muscles are almost 80% water by design, and pumping them up with a few extra pounds of liquid and glycogen, is only going to make you look bigger than usual.

When we take creatine for the first time or after a layoff, it's likely that our weight on the scale will increase. As much as we would love to tell you this weight gain is muscle, the majority of it is water retention.
However, it's not all doom and gloom. More intramuscular water means bigger, rounder muscles, which are very visually appealing.
Gas or bloating
Anyone who has ever overeaten protein or fiber, has experienced the unpleasant gassy side-effects. Mass tech alone won't give you gas, but if you go too hard on the protein, then your stomach could give you problems.
How To Use It Properly
Mix one serving (5 scoops) with 16 oz of cold water, or skim milk for more protein.
You can either drink the whole shake at once, or split it into two shakes, and drink them at different times during the day.
It mixes ok in a shaker cup, but for best results, we recommend using a blender.
What's The Best Time To Take It?
Mass Tech can be taken as a convenient breakfast shake, between meals as a protein boost, after training, and before bed to promote overnight muscle growth.
The most important thing is that you get your calories in. However, based on recent science which found creatine to be most effective when taken post-workout, we recommend drinking it after training.
If that’s too many calories at once, then take half after your workout, and the other half at any other time that convenient for you.

Flavors, Taste, And Mixability
It is available for purchase in 5 different flavors; birthday cake, chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry, and vanilla.
We went for the strawberry flavor and first tried mixing it in a regular shaker bottle. Surprisingly, it mixed as if it was protein powder. We did cheat a little bit though. We only used half a serving, but it's more than fine to split it into 2 separate shakes.
The mixability is both surprising and not surprising. It's a surprise because mass gainers aren't meant to blend this quickly, but it's not surprising considering how well MuscleTech's other supplement tend to mix up. Nitro Tech, for example, is one of the best mixing protein shakes we've reviewed.
Taste-wise, it was ok. Certainly not the best we've tasted (usually we go for chocolate) but not the worst either. When we blended it up with milk through, there was a noticeable improvement in the flavor, which also added to the protein count quite nicely (80g with milk vs 63g without).

Which Has Better Ingredients?
Weirdly, extreme 2000 actually has less protein than regular Mass Tech, despite being twice as high in calories. What gives?
Well, all of the extra calories in Mass Tech Extreme 2000 come from carbs. There is no extra protein, and no significant difference in fats, you just get way more carbs, around 309 more to be precise.
For me, Extreme 2000 is not worth it. That’s not to say it's a lousy supplement, it's just that for most people, the sheer number of calories is overkill, and more calories don't always mean more muscle.
We think it is an excellent supplement in many ways. Helping people of all starting points gain weight, MuscleTech mass gainers are known for changing thin bodies into muscular, strong physiques. Also, containing enough creatine and BCAAs to where you don't need to buy extra, this is a good value mass gainer by our measures.
Unlike similar products, which are often loaded with carbs at the expense of essential proteins, Mass Tech offers a 3:1 carb to protein ratio to emphasize glycogen replenishment, as well as the growth of new muscle tissue.
Being free from maltodextrin and containing the only 13g of total sugar, it is an excellent choice for those who are lean bulking, and even hardgainer who find weight gain a struggle.
